SPAL fan controllers

I just installed my Troyer dual e-fan kit over Christmas last year and already I have had two of the fan controllers burn out on me. I called Troyer and they are telling me that this is a recent issue with the controllers and they are working with the company that makes them to correct the problem. Well, I'm tired of waiting and changing out controllers every few weeks. I've been doing some searching for a better controller and came across the SPAL programmable fan controller and it looks pretty good. Anyone using this setup that could give me feed back on reliability.

Thanks,

I made my own controller using a flex-lite mechanical t-stat controller ($30) and a couple of heavy duty 75 amp relays. Going on a year and absolutely no problems.

I have not seen very good results using electronic controllers.....I think it comes down to the wires and not the controller themselves.

So Troyer acknowledges the problem? I bet he is still selling them though.

Go with either the DC Controller or VSC from Flex-a-lite.

You bet he is and apparently hoping for the best about customer returns. I'll take a look at the Flex-a-lite units, they have to be better than the ones I have now.

Thanks
