Check engine...

I found that a vac. hose had become disconnected. I hauled a car from Chicago back to Ia. Monday so I suspect that the vibration must have worked it loose. Reset the puter so I guess I will see where we go from here. The slight miss is not present at this time, so we shall see?

Yea , I wouldn't buy those from the dealer. The difference is -

1. You pay eight times as much for their coils.
2. You chances of getting a bad one isn't any different.
3. They don't warranty their Coils (what's that tell yuh).

There's allot of parts I wouldn't get any where else other than the dealership "Ford" - BUT coils isn't one of them.

BTW - I went to the dealership to pickup a DPFE sensor for and 99 Explorer. They wanted $149 for that damn sensor. I've never seen that sensor priced so high.. What's going on?

That could have been it. Thing is , when you re-boot with a misfire, all seems well . But, if the problem hasn't been resolved, you'll know it within the next 100 miles or so. Re-booting seems to do that in misfire situations. I can't explain why.

Keep us posted

Hey there jbrew, O.E. does warranty the coils 1yr-12,000mi. and some stores warranty the motocraft for 3-36, but not lifetime, oh well. Unless the dealer does it, then it goes with the emissions coverage of 8-80, not that that matters to anyone with 100,000 mi. But they are all about not having to replace them all, well you know my opinion anyway. I understand the cost is high though. we all do what we gotta do.

I keep hearing conflicting stories about that . That they don't warranty their electronic parts. Or that they do, just not officially lol. Maybe it depends on who you talk to and IF they know what there talking about. I really don't have supporting data either way, so, just going by what I here.

I believe you tho.

Yeah, that doesn't suprise me. Our district Ford parts rep. says to call him personally if a part Warranty problem does arise with our dealers. So by that I am assuming they have many problems with their own people, and that just sucks.
