engine coolant temperature sensor

where is the ECT sensor located on a 1998 ford f150 2wd

Depends on which engine you have. The 4.6 & 5.4 is in right front of intake manifold.

Figures it would be a V6

I'll see if I have one - I think their in the back ? I'll see if I can find one.


A = Engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT sensor) (12A648).

B = Water temperature indicator sender unit (10884).






A = water temperature indicator sending unit electrical connectors.

B = engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.




NOTE : Arrow in illustration designates front of motor.

Looks to be at left front, beside the valve cover in the lower intake manifold
