Thanks to those who advised on my knocking issue. The mechanic cleaned the MAF and checked the EGR when he put my engine back together. The knocking has gone away with the use of 89 octane. The mechanic went for a ride with me with his computer hooked up and discovered the engine was running lean when pulling hard, and it should be a little rich. The higher octane was saving it from knocking. The next step will be to check the fuel filter, and pump. Once this problem is solved, I should be able to use 87 octane. But I will try the high power setting with the Superchip, just for fun. Thanks again.
