F-150 92 4.9ltr Suggestions
I just purchased a 1992 Ford F-150, 2x4 with the 300ci 4.9liter straight-6, a rebuilt new 5speed linked to a massive hollowed cast aluminum driveshaft. it's not stock, but i do not know the manufacturer. I know it's tough and definitely build for way more power than the 265tq this puts out.
I've done all the check ups, little fixes, and general maintenance from oil change, tranny fluid change and flush, etc etc.
Anyways, knowing the drivetrain, and suspension could handle the extra power, I was wondering any tips to increase horsepower with the goal of gas mileage increase. maybe 22mpg hwy if possible. I'm not looking to make this into a street rod, just modernize any necessary parts to get better gas mileage, and better power. Looking to get 180hp and 300tq out of it, which isnt a far cry from the 150hp, 265tq stock.
any tips or good products that might help?

I don't know what your rear axle gearing is, but it likely is 2.73, so getting to 3.55 may keep similar MPGs and get you up to speed quicker.
Will that Mazda tranny even take 300 FT/LBS of torque? That might be cutting it close...
