Go with a tuner, best bang for the buck. Do your homework and decide what is best for you.

I've got an 04 5.4 I'm ready to begin modding, and I've decided on the Edge as my first mod, followed by intake and exhaust.

i wouldn't use an edge. they will eat a tranny alive because they don't offer tranny protection.

customers of my dad went through trannies. its gennerally diesels but a couple of 5.4's have done the same thing. then again they never did any updates to them, and they do drive their trucks hard so i may be wrong. sorry if i am.

..... I dunno where you heard that but it is possible by cranking the line pressure too much that you will have some damage, so just dont put it to high... as for canned tunes its fine.

if your going with the edge I reccomend that you get a AF1 intake, all others dont work too nice with the edge unless you get a custom tune.

Not required but recommended for certain intakes on the newer 3v's.

Also for the edge's and diesels. It is from the extra 100+ hp and 200 ft lbs of tq that they get from the chips that puts a LOT of extra stress on it and then it gives up the ghost.
