Head Swap Help Please

I have a 97 expo with the 5.4 I want to swap the heads and put the P.I. heads on. Will I need to change the cam and or values also? or can just the heads be swaped?

You can use the existing cams but if you can find heads that already have the cam get that one. You will need to find an intake manifold that mates to the Pi heads. Look for a 1999-2003 intake manifold.

If your going to do all that work. Go with ported heads and a better cam!

I have a 5.4 PI intake if you need it.

OR, just have your NPI heads ported, and add the cams. NPI's will flow better than PI's if worked by some one good, and that's less other stuff to change.

PI or NPI ported. You still need a PI intake!

Hey , I know guy that gets his hands on a couple Crown Vic 4.6L crate motors every year(longblocks) - He won't sell the intake manifolds or block, but parts everything else out above that. These were 2000 model year engines.

He sells the stuff on ebay , I get allot of parts from the guy when he does.

Anyway - he can hardly give the heads away because their NPI. Price is always the same - $100 for both + $30 shipping.

Are the cams different compared to our trucks stock cams.? I'm curious why he can't sell them and if I could do anything to them to make it worth while. Hell, their new! - Take offs.
