Motor Mounts

How do you know when your motor mounts are bad?

And is it common for them to go bad on a 2005 F150 5.4l Supercrew?

I get a noticable vibration through the gas pedal when the truck is in the higher rpm range around 3000.

A little more info might help you out here. How many miles on the truck? Does this vibration come on while the truck is being driven or just sitting and raising the RPM's? Is there any noise associated with the vibration etc. I personally doubt that the engine mounts are the cause for the vibration. Give these guys some more info and I'm sure you'll get some good ideas on what too check out in return. Good luck

LOL I guess a little more info may help. I have 71000 KMs on the truck. Vibration comes just before shifting into second gear and also a little before shifting into 3rd gear when accelrating hard. I notice it more so through the gas pedal then any where else. Maybe it is just in my head but I thought I would ask to see if anybody else had this problem.

I should also mention when stopped at a stop light I feel a vibration through the brake pedal. It doesn't happen all the time. It will go away when put in neutral.

Having exactly the same problem with my '05!! This morning driving to work it got even worse. It's still under warranty so they're fixing (hopefully). I'll let you know what they say this one is. Nothing but trouble from this truck since it was Brand new off the lot!

I haven't had to much trouble with my truck other then the driveshaft slip yoke clunk. But this little vibration is driving me crazy. Please post back when you find out what it is.

So the dealership just called, apparently the vibration was more than a little something this morning!!! I knew it felt like it was going to come apart at the seams but they told me that 3 injectors were bad!!! I remember getting a paper from Ford at the end of the year about the "extended warranty" they were putting on them.

I wanted a truck so bad, ran up nearly $8K in repair bills with my '02 screw and now my '05 has given me nothing but trouble since I drove it off the lot! I only have 10K left of warranty and I'm terrified! I can't wait until I don't owe more than it's worth to trade!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

Quality is definitely NOT job 1!!!

Good luck on your truck!!!
