Ignition systems

Looking to upgrade my stock Ignition system on my 98 F-150 4.6.
Checked out a package deal on line at Troyer performance for $299,(coil packs, plugs and wires), but they dont even list the individual component brands, so Im not really sure whats in the box.
If anyone has a good link, please chime in.
Thanks.

You can be sure if its coming from Troyer its quality The question is: What are you expecting after the install; more hp, better idle, better fuel mileage?

All I really do is drive my truck to work and back, not really looking for performance applications, just like to keep the beast legit.
I had read that the stock coil packs need replacing at about 45,000, not sure if this is true or not, but I just hit 100k and will be doing an overall tune-up, and was considering replacing the coil packs while doing the plugs and wires.
Troyer had the ignition package for my truck which included all 3, just not sure now if its necessary or not.
Curious as to what your opinion is on the MSD coil packs vs stock, and plugs and wires vs stock(motor craft, autolite).
Thanks

I installed that kit in my truck just a few months ago. It is MSD coil packs, Accell wires, and Denso iridium plugs. My truck had the original ignition from 1998, and 180,000 miles on them, so it started to misfire on a couple of cylinders. When I put the Troyer kit in, it perked it right back up again. I would say that if you are going to have to replace anyway, go with the Troyer kit. If not, I wouldn't go looking at this as a major performance upgrade over stock.
