E-brake maintenance

Do you need to do any service on the e-brake setup on a 06 5.4L? Never serviced an in hub type e-brake setup before. I assume the brake shoes never need to be replaced, unlike a standard cable caliper setup. Any comments appreciated.........

It is no different than any other drum brake, except it does not have a self adjuster. It is not part of the hub, just pull the rotor off, you may have to loosen the e-brake, which adjusts just like a drum brake, and there it is. It is just a mini-drum , which is part of the rotor. Shoes will not wear unless you drive with the e-brake on. You may have problems with the hardware corroding and even the shoe separating from the backing plate.
