Homemade E-Fan

I have decided instead of paying a couple of hundrend dollars to buy an e-fan I would make my own.

I went to the local juckyard picked up a dual efan out of a 97 stratus. $25
I picked up a sheet of 22 gauge satin finish metal to make a shroud $20
And I picked up an E-fan adjustable thermostat at the parts store for $45

I took the fans apart and cleaned them all up and repainted them and then made sure they work which they do. I plan on painting the shroud some time over the weekend.

And this is what I came up with so far. I need to wait until the weather gets alittle warmer before I can actually install it in the truck. (sorry about the quality)

I'm very interested in the shroud, thats what I'd like to do with my efans, how did you bend it? For size and mounting I plan to duplicate the OEM shroud style.

You can use a sheet metal break to do it. Looks great. Awsome job.

I used a sheet metal brake just as twintips_17 said to bend the metal.

For the measurements the rad on 05 measures 32.5 across and 17.5 up and down. I just made a square frame with those measurments and my fan measured 24 across and 15.25 up and down. I made another piece with the first measurments and tapered it down to the fan measurements.

I could make a detailed listed if anybody wanted one.

I think there would be a lot of people that would want that!

Did you check to make sure they will pull the required CFM so your truck won't have overheating problems? I imagine you did, but just thought i'd ask just in case.
