anyone every heard of a v-10 swap
anyone every heard of a v-10 swap
i found a good deal on a v-10 out of a wrecked f350, about 1000 bucks for engine, wiring, computer, and tranny, this truck is a two wheel drive if it matters, less than 60,000 miles on it. the project truck is a 97 f150, with a 4.6 and 5 speed, 4x4, reg cab, long bed, with a 6" procomp and 3" p.a. body lift. if any one has any opinions on this type of swap, or suggestions, please let me know.
There is also a lighting, that has about 140,000 on it, for the same price, but the computer and wiring were burnt... just a side note... dont know if this would be a more realistic swap or not, considering there is no computer, wiring or tranny..... i just think the v-10 would be a one of a kind project, and really awesome with a procharger mounted on it.... lol

talked to a guy that worked for rosch and they said they droped a V-10 into a F-150 they had to beef up the front end alot to hold it. he also said that thing was " A lil bit peepy" when they gave it to the guy they handed him the keys and set..."if you have any probs...Dont bring it back to us!!

It was done. A few adjustments are necessary. The tranny that comes with is useless because it is 4x2. If you bolt it up to your existing drivetrain it will work. For about 5 days or 50 miles.
Then expect tranny parts on the ground. If you still want manual tranny I would recommend a ZF tranny and NVG t-case out of the Superduty.
