there are many different kits available, or you can build your own.

What are you getting now? Is your truck's general maintenance up to date?

I have a 97 4.6 auto 86K and if I drive
it hard I will get 15 mpg. If I do the highway
and just cruise 65 and easy
local driving I get 18 mpg.
Leave the OD on and use 87 octane.

I don't know how much better I can get but
I will try K&N air filter, and synthethic oil next.
This is COLD winter here also.

if it needs a tune up you could stick a hotter spark plug in it that way the plugs are done and use the factory recommended 5w20 oil will help but the mileage gain would be unnoticable. not much but at least its a thought without spending alot on something you dont really need. otherwise air intake and exhaust.
