Not able to answer your ?, but mine does the same thing. I'm planning on getting a custom tuner from Troyer or VMP soon, hope that will solve this problem. Everyone says that the stock tune is lame and custom tuning will wake this motor up. Hope so!!

Yes sir - specially the 5.4L Three Valve. If I had one I would head over to Troyer and do it up in one shot . -

1. AF1 3.5 Intake
2. A good "Cat Back" system
3. THEN the tuner - That way your sure to get the right set up(tune) for your mods.

Everyone swears by the AF1 from Troyer but what is the major difference between all the others. I know this is not the correct forum for this question but you guys seem to know the most about everything. JBREW recommended the AF1 with the tuner but I already have a K&N. Will getting a tuner from Troyer + the K&N be just as good?

I have read on here that what is happening is, the transmission is shifting from OD to second, which is very hard on it due to heat build-up. It is recommended that you first disengage OD, then get on the throttle to pass. My '05 does/did this. I had the dealership reflash the PCM, (which helped the shift firmness and timing) and now I disengage OD first. Works like a charm!

Yea, that's a question for the tuner section because I'm not sure. I would do a little searching then present that question to Mike or in the Superchips forum and maybe he will chime in.

I'm not exactly sure of the parameters that a mail order tune/programmer provides. The 04 + models are drastically under tuned from the factory. I listed that set up because that's the hardware the distributer(Troyer) recommends . It's also popular.

I will say that I can smoke a stock 5four 3 valve - that shouldn't happen. I've lined up with a 5four 3valve that a had a dyno tune and just an intake w/stock exhaust and got my a$$ handed to me. Big difference.

First question: how do you copy that quote box from other posts? I can't figure it out.
Responding to RIGHTSIDE: I always drive around town with the O/D off and I still have that "choke". Must be something else?
