All the girls that I go to school with drive VW, Audi, or Hondas... makes me sick... I just want to tow all of them away...

Also Jbrew... you should be happy she doesn't drive a car... if my daughter came home with my truck offroaded... I'd be kinda ticked, but also amazed. I think that I wouldn't punish her, but rather show her how to fix her truck.

I know what you mean . The chicks I went with usually drove Chevy's - I figure that's why they didn''t last to long.
Yea , she one of a Kind alright - My Thirteen year old could care less about trucks .. Maybe she's just a late bloomer
She's still into the blowing up Barbie's and or shoving frogs in those model rockets that you can launch 2000 feet straight up ..

It's those women that drive cars all their life...
By the way , I couldn't post this earlier for some reason . But , this is what happened . -

The brushes were locked up in this position in the voltage regulator -

Dirt is my guess or heat/dirt combined - there wasn't much evidence . They were a PITA to get working again. They were definitely seized!

A shot of B12 along with a little persuasion, they were happy again.

Alternators don't like to get dirty. It makes them hot.
The brushes get too hot from all the grinding in the mud and they heat up. Then the housing melts/distorts and they stick. When I off road I now carry a spare and also a big bottle of water to wash out the crap that gets into it. I have a pic somewhere where the inside of the engine compartment is brown. That happened a the Mounds a few years back.
