Help with check engine light problem

My check engine & ABS lights are on, I had the codes pulled total 10 codes and It was something to do with 02 sensors, a canistor, and misfire, well I changed all four 02 sensors, change & clean EGR, EGR passage way and a host of other parts, after disconnecting the battery and installing all of these items it went off but only to return back on, I met a gentleman and he said he had a similer problem he said it turned out to be a small part that cause the computer to send a slew of false codes, does this sound familiar to anyone? If so what part is he talking about?

here is whats going on now!

1# Check engine light on
2# the odometer keeps going in and out as if there is a short
3# Abs light goes on and off, then stays on
4# truck is not running as smooth as it could be

Any Imput will greatly be appreciated.

Thank you in advance

WELCOME

somebody more knowledgeable than me will chime in shortly but ide say you have a very slight chance you have the same problem he had with the computer. Im sure everyones going to want to know exactly what the codes are so get those to us asap to help speed things up. The odometer flicking on and off is a common problem and there is a "how to" somewhere in here so you can fix that. The abs is something to do with your brakes. And the 10 codes dont mean there are 10 things wrong with it, actually it could be one simple thing like a vacuum leak. And ill bet it has something to do with your truck not running so smooth so get those codes in here when you get a chance.

Got codes need help!!

Thanks Toyz

Ok, I read quite a few postings on the forum and decided to clean my throtle body the EGR vavle was completey block I had to use a drill to break it up abit so the cleaner can get deep down in the passaage valve, I got it all back together, took it to the parts store to check for codes and it thru 2 codes, P1451 and P1401 I dont understand, it says the DPFE could be the problem or and the canister vent (CV) solenoid circuit. I just change out the DPFE 2 weeks ago could it be bad already? my question is anyone familiar with this problem?.

Thanks in advance

There is a repair posted in the electrical section for the intermittent odometer problem. Probably the ground on it circuit board is cracked and needs to be soldered. Its an easy fix I've done it. go over to that part of the board and follow the instructions.. You shouldn't have changed the rear 02's waste of money. The dpfe deal could be a vacuum leak or the DPFE may be bad. I would check everything and if its all good then order a new one. It's said you should only get them from ford because they've updated them.

Check your wiring harness starting with the O2 sensors coming in contact with the exhaust. The most common cause with P1451 and P1401 is wiring

It's possible you have a cracked solder connection in the cluster for the OD light problem - Known problem and easy to fix yourself - Theres a sticky (how to) in one of the forums .. I think it the electrical forum ? Interior Forum maybe .. It's around here somewhere..

Good luck

BTW the way , fill your info in (top right ) I had to search awhile to figure out what motor you had.. That sucks..
