big problem
this morning i had a "meltdown" of one of my cats. my truck was bogging down bad and a cel was thrown. gutted the 2 rear cats and got them welded together went for a little test drive and sounds cool as hell but i still have a problem its doing the exact same thing it was this morning when the cat had a "meltdown" first off i have a 4.6 5 speed i can get along in 1st and 2nd but 2nd "misses" in a couple spots 3 is boggy 4 holds my speed and 5 is rediculous we ran a computer scan before i gutted the cat all it said was left bank running lean. and a cel hasn't been thrown at all since i turned off my truck after the "meltdown" any ideas thanks
Did you reset the computer by removing the battery cables for about 20 to 30 minutes?
The engine could have been trying to lean it out so much that it got stuck like that in the ECU.
OR
One of your O2 sensors got busted when the cat had a meltdown... when those babies get plugged, the whole exhaust system just runs HOT... so hot, if you were to look at it at night it would be glowing orange. So it might have messed up a sensor.

had the battery disconnected while welding for probably 1 1/2 hours. would the o2 censor show up on the computer scan? nothing showed up but left bank running lean and ive heard a leak in the vacuum line 3 or 4 times now but could it be that?

Drive it like you own the streets of America.
Have fun... as that will make your engine as new as the day you bought it.
One thing you might want to do is find a country backroad that is straight and a few miles long... and where there is NO body around... drop it in 1st and just ride along in 1st for about 1 minute at around the 4,500 rpm mark.
Stop... idle the truck for about 5 or 10 minutes. Then just do an all out acceleration... from 0-80 mph.... I mean really race the crap out of the engine once or twice. Thrice (three times) and you should be set.
After that... if you want to keep driving it hard, it's up to you.... but it should be relatively clean.

Find and fix your vacuum leaks BEFORE doing anything else.
