You can get the factory OEM part from directfordparts.com for $68.55. With shipping, can be at your door for $79.50.

TOMCO - For the Aluminum Type

I know Global Auto just started offering them as well - I haven't checked those out yet.

Just make sure you get the right type - There's three types of DPFE sensors, you need the correct unit.

DirectFP & Rock Auto are safe bets as well..

Thumbs up

All right, I, as expected, did not win the part on Ebay, however, I did purchase one from Rock Auto (thanks for the recommendation). Part came today and I replaced it in about 10 minutes. I left the battery cable off while replacing it to clear my CEL. I have only driven about 10 miles thus far, so, I do not have a good feel as to whether or not the code will return yet, but I certainly hope that it does not.
As an aside, while I had the tools out, I replaced my front brake rotors, for the second time, with any luck, these won't warp as quickly.
I'll let you fine folks know in a few days whether or not the code comes back.
Thanks for all the help,
Sterling

Yea , you'll know after the third drive cycle . It will come back usually after the third time driving once clearing the KAM - if it's not fixed.

Good Luck

Well, so far, so good. No more hesitation near 40mph, no more code (yet). At this point, I'm feeling fairly confident that the DPFE sensor and cleaning the TB resolved my issues.
I still have a little, very little, spark knock under load, new plugs pretty much took care of that, I probably still need to replace the COP's and wires, but that will not be immediate.
My next bit of maintenance will be to clean the MAF...I do not know that it needs it, but it's a lesser expensive thing to do that can not hurt (when one properly).
Thanks again for all the help guys, things are looking up!

If you want to kill the spark knock, use the next higher octane gas. If you are using 87, try 89.

Change out your fuel filter if its old and I'll bet you get rid of that knock without having to buy more expensive, higher octane gas.

Fuel filter already changed (when the plugs were changed, which started this whole mess)...I'm thinking COP's...any other (less expensive) ideas?
Thanks,
Sterling

You used Motorcraft plugs right?

Clean your MAF

Disconnect the battery first. See how she runs then , that may surprise yuh.

http://www.fordf150.net/howto/clean-...low-sensor.php

If you haven't changed the COP's on a 99 5.4L , I would look into that as cheap as they are.

Fill in your info in top right corner please - "UserCP" - It's a PITA fumbling through past posts to see what your runnin..

Good Job

Yea , if you decide to replace the COP's in the future ($85 for a set of 8), here's where quite a few people go to get them - Global Auto -

Good Luck
