K&N oil on S&B filter...

So here's the dealio....I have a AF1 intake sitting in my closet waiting for the tunes to go on....bought it used and the previous owner cleaned it and everything but the filter (S&B brand if Im not mistaken) is not oiled. I have a K&N filter cleaning/re-oiling kit from a couple previous K&N filters that I dont have anymore.

So Im wondering if its ok to use the K&N oil on the S&B filter or not? I really dont see why it wouldnt work, only difference is that the filter would be red colored instead of the S&B blue, no? Or is there a difference between the filter and oil that might make a bad combination? I figure filter oil is pretty much filter oil.....

Thoughts...?

On cleaning; depends on what the filter is made from as to it's sensitivity to the cleaning medium.
As far as filter oil, believe it or not, ATF fluid works well.
Used it all the time on dirt track racing filters.
Washes out just the same as any other oil and is even the same color; imagine that!.
