From what I understand Modmax used to have a stroker kit for the 5.4 to stroke it to 350 cubic inches. http://www.modmaxracing.com/

Cool

HI!... Just remember that any stroker kit on the 5.4 will be high maintenance and reducing the life of that engine drastically.

HI!... When you "STROKE" a engine your basically adding a longer connecting rod and stroke. This puts a lot more strain on the piston due to at the bottom of the stroke the rod is trying to push the piston sideways in the cylinder bore. This wears out the rings faster than on a normal engine. Eventually it will wear on the piston skirts as well. It's harder on the rod and main bearings too. "STROKER" kits are not for your daily driver usually. You can drive then everyday but it just puts more wear on the engine due to the above stated reasons. There are small stroker kits that do have a decent "ROD RATIO" and stay together for a long time. like the 351-W = 408 or the 302 = 347. But the 5.4 to 5.8 is not one of them. Guys usually stroke the engine for race purposes to get every last ounce of H.P/TQ. This is not your case. Just get some of the popular bolt-ons and like I said before get a set of STAGE II or STAGE III "P.I' heads with a custom set of cams and you will easily make 300-350RWH.P which is plenty of power for a daily driver.

thanks for the great info. Neal, you really seem to know what your talkin about. doesnt a stroker kit also make your motor to be able to handle more hp/ than not? do you know about how much hp/tq one can expect from getting a stroker kit.. the reason why is that im trying to build my motor more, cause i already have over 350 hp on the dyno, and i know i need better pistons, beams, rods, springs and all the good stuff. when im done with my truck it will be fully built, on the bottle.

Actually mine cost quite a bit more than that. I went with eagle rods, mahle pistons and mahle rings. I already had a fresh forged crank.
