Surging RPM

Thanks Built54. If your truck revs up and does the same after doing what he says it should not do, then I do not know what the guy at Ford is talking about? He says it should not do that. I took my wife's 02 Jeep liberty ltd. out and did what the machanic said to do and her car does not rev up so I thought that that was my problem. So you are saying that's normal. Your truck revs up too? To me what he is saying makes sense because it diffinately is a tranny problem. It's like the tranny is slipping. Maybe it has something to do with my ABS brakes senson? Its like the minute the brake gets triggered, with not even appling the brakes, the engine revs up the 400rpm.

must be a ford thing... Every f150 i've ever seen does this. I actually use it quite often. If im going up a steep hill and dont want to give it more gas, ill just tap the brake and let it unlock the converter in od, gain a little speed and it will lock again.

Transmission place is going to look at it. Says they do the initial testing to see if anything is wrong at no charge. Just like Built54 said, It is normal for your truck to go up 400 rpm when tapping on the brake. I'll keep you posted if I find anything new. Dave.
