Fitch Inline Fuel Catalyst

I'm looking for pros/cons from anyone who's had a Fitch inline fuel catalyst installed....they claim 1-2.5mpg increase but I have yet to find any F150 owners that have had one installed...all their testimonials were Dodge and Chevy guys.

It claims to "reduce bacterial growth" in your fuel (among other things), come on!

Remember the little bags of pellets that you dropped in your tank to get better fuel mileage? Fitch technology. This unit is no more than the pellets in a nice little can and it uses a tin based catalyst. You can easily buy a roll of tin based solder and throw it in the tank and get the same results which is a warm fuzzy at best. If this product had ANY real value the auto makers would be all over it to improve their CAFE. And for the $15.00 GM, Ford, and Dodge would be paying in advance for this.......obviously, they aren't because it is advertizing hype and BS.

Yes, over several months. I fill my truck weekly so bacteria is not a concern.

Fitch stuff has been a fad with powersports for a while too. Every so often it re-appears in all the catalogs promising more HP and better fuel economy by "further refining" the fuel, then it fades away again before people realize it's a load of crap. I've never seen any real data to support that it works, but it seems they have miles of "testimonials" from clowns thinking it gave their truck another 5hp, since a 5hp gain can be precisely identified because one thinks the truck was a little bit faster off the red light.

"Placebo effect" if you ask me, it goes in the same boat as TB spacers, fuel line magnets, and snowmobile silencers giving 10hp. People don't want to think their $50 fuel catalyst didn't do di^k for anything and the mind thinks the truck is a little faster, and that last fill-up was a little cheaper.
