Tranny fluid

Hey everyone. Happy holidays.
Where do I add the transmission fluid on a 2000 4.6?

the same place you checked it to know that it was low.

Automatic: in the dipstick tube
Manual: Plug in the side of the transmission

Just curious, why did you ask this in the Engines forum instead of the Transmissions forum?

Don't overfill - Make sure you check it right. An automatic is checked as follows. It takes a good 20 miles of drive time to heat and then check correctly. Go thru all the gears with foot on the brake , pausing a little in each gear while running. Once your back in park you can now check it accurately..

Happy holidays

My dipstick doesn't have that option - not for the trans. Maybe yours is special.

The procedure described above is per manual.

Yeah, I know the procedure.

My oil cap doesn't look like yours either. Maybe it's "special", too?
