Talking Going to see danny @ Swanson tomorrow

i finaly got ahold of danny at swanson performance in torrance, i can't remember who recomended me there, but it was one of you guys, so thanks... i've gotta buy the sct tuner, it's $439, and he says with dyno time
and tuning included, i should end up around $650-700, i know its more than the x-cal2 buy itself, but, its close to me, it doesnt take 3 or 4 months, and although i've heard that mike is an awsome tuner, its hard to see how someone from across the country can do as well as actually being on a dyno.
after i pay off a little on my little piece of plastic, i'm going to get some pulleys.

i'll post some dyno charts as soon as its all over with, wish me luck.

Mike has over 15 years of experience on F-150 platforms, thousands of dyno hours, he actually wrote tunes for many chip companies etc.
You are spending much more money from someone without that resume.

i know what your saying, and yeah, it's more money, but i still find it hard to wrap my head around a tune from someone who's just HEARD what my truck has, and what i do with it. theres no trial and error, just "this has worked before, let me try it again but make a little tweak here since it's got a different intake than the last one" i like the fact that it's going to be on a dyno, watching numbers move with adjustments. i'm not saying anything bad about mike, i'm sure that his tunes are awsome, and there customer service is perfection at its best. i've got my e-fans from them and i'm getting my pully's from them. but we'll see what happens....

Sounds great. You are much farther ahead putting your truck on the dyno, and Swanson has a good rep. I don't think the $$ are too bad either.

i'm not sure if your aware of this, but a 4.6 truck is just a 5200lb mustang....

Not quite true. The mustang is set up (tuned) for performance and the truck is set up for work.

thank you... and thats acomplished by using the short runner intake, instead of the long runner, thing is if your having the truck tuned for performance, then why wouldnt a mustang tuner be the right guy to see???

I am not trying to discourage you from using the tuner of your choice. I am simply contradicting your statement. i'm not sure if your aware of this, but a 4.6 truck is just a 5200lb mustang.... I disagree.
