Angry Engaging High Beams Kills Engine

2000 Expeditin 5.4 2wheel drive

Everything thing on the left side of my car seems to be failing.

First my headlights die, then my seat controls and pedal extender stop working, then my taillights work on and off.

But get this!

If I am driving my car and I engage my high beams only the whole damn car turns off immediately. It does this while sitting or driving, engage high beams and car shuts off.

Tell me this happens a lot and is a common fix.

First thing is you probably got some blown fuses.
Look at # 18 and #112 or their equivlent on your truck, for the seat and pedal functions.
Then see what happens.
If there are any blown fuses and they blow again then your on the first step to analysizing the problem before the fix.
Killing the motor on hi beams is a special situation that is hard to tell before enough analysis is done.
The flash to pass is a dual feed circuit and may be involved.
I am tracing this on service dsc but you need to take a look at the fusing first.
