Update on 2005 Ford Expedition

Truck was in the shop for 10 days. They replaced #6 and #7 injectors as well as the short block.

I asked how about replacing the other 6 injectors and they said they would check with Ford but never heard back from them until they called and said truck was ready and Ford so no to the other injectors.

The blown motor happened while I was travelling in a small town so I had no pull with this dealership and did not feel like fighting.

Anyway, its back to running like a bat out of H--L so I'm happy. I did not pay for anything, including the tow to the dealership.

For those of you that are getting "new" short blocks, are they actually new or rebuilds? My truck broke down Saturday, after idling rough and smoking. I turned it off and now it won't crank. Had it towed to the dealer. I am afraid they are going to tell me the motor is bad. Only has 24000 miles. If they replace the motor I wan't a new one, not a rebuild..

You won't get a new one after 12,000 miles has gone by.

I'm so glad I found this site. We have an 05 expedition with 44k miles on it. We have had a terrible time with it. Our fuel injectors got stuck open, flooded the engine with gas and caused damage to the engine. We have to wait until Monday to find out if Ford will cover the damage the fuel injectors caused. If not, we could be looking at $5000 in costs. I can't believe they haven't recalled these. I was driving with my 3 kids when it happened and it was a 90 degree day. Thank goodness I was a few miles from the dealer and drove it there. We were just in the shop with it last month replacing a coil. This truck is getting traded as soon as possible. The next question is, do we ever buy another Ford?
