Exclamation Tranny Issue!!!

I know this is the wrong forum but I need to know something. Today, out of nowhere at a stop light I pushed on the gas and the Tranny didn't engage and then engaged. Slipping badly. truck has 53,000 and supposedly the dealership changed the fluid at 36,000. What could this be? Seemed to get worse real fast all the home today. Must have slipped 3 to 4 times only from start, not after going.

Try the basics. Check oil, look for leaks.

No leaks. Levels look good. Did you mean Tranny fluid or oil?

check the fluid and see if it looks kinda metallic if so then try all the gears on the shifter and see if it does the same thing and if it does then you probably need a tranny or a flush but if its as bad as you say then most likely it would need a new tranny.

The other day when in reverse to back into a parking space, it sounded like I was draging a cardboard box underneath the truck. Nothing was there. The O/D light flashed for about 5 min and hasn't done it since. Only until today did it do this. I work out of this truck and have anywhere from 3 to 5 full 5 gallon buckets of paint (including spray rig, laddders, etc). I don't think the weight should matter being that this has never happened before and I bought the truck brand new and never had this issue before. I'm taking it in (NOT TO FORD!) to my mechanic to let him scan the codes to se what's up....hopefully nothing but a sensor but we'll see.

Ok. Checked tranny fluid level this morning and it was about a 1/2 quart to a quart low. Didn't slip on the way to my mechanic and he ran a diagnostic on the flahing O/D light from last week. Only one code P0712 TFT Sensor low (or something like that). Anyone know if that would have caused it to slip so bad a few times yesterday?
