I have been using 5W20 Mobil 1 and a Motorcraft filter every 5,000. However, since the tests are in, I'm switching to Pennzoil Platinum (better than Mobil 1).

Your profile doesn't say what you drive. If the owners manual calls for a 5w-20, look for the Ford 929 spec on the bottle. You can't buy a better oil. If it calls for a 5w-30, look for the Ford spec 930 on the bottle. Again, you can't buy a better oil. The best formulations that I am aware of today puts Pennzoil on top followed by Havoline DS but the margins are real close for all other brands. Frankly, it's hard to buy a bad oil today as long as it has the correct Ford Spec on the bottle.

You have your specs backwards, Labnerd. 5W30 is 929 and 5W20 is 930.

I use Mobil 1 EP 5W20 and a Mobil 1 filter.

Oh the joys of getting old! By the time I'm eligible for Social Security I won't remember where to find it.
