Does anyone have an idea for mileage on Mobil 1? I just switched to synthetic for the first time and I'm thinking about 5,000mi intervals. I don't drive offroad and I mostly put highway miles on my new 07 f150 (sorry, just started here so i don't have any info posted yet)

I drive a 2001 F-150 5.4 4x4. I have driven Fords most of my life. They are---1955 car, 1959 car, them Mo-par for a few years, back to Ford in 1970 pu,1973 pu, back to Mo-par in 1978, 1987 Bronco II, 1995 Bronco (I still have it), 1995 Explorer, 2001 F150 and 2002 Explorer. During all this time I have used 10-30 oil with STP, and top of line Fram filter. I have never had a engine brack down. Here in Utah where I live it has gotten down as far as 38 below zero.

How many miles a month do you put on? You may be best off going on time-based intervals rather than mileage-based. I put a TON of miles on last summer and I ran a load 10k, but that only took 3 months.

Same Here! Royal Purple + K&N Filter every 3,000!

I wish I could stretch my F150 2WD daily driver's oil change intervals out to 5,000, 7,500, or even 15,000. But with the way I drive my truck, with all the stop & go + excessive idling, I typically log about 1 hour in engine time, only to travel a little under 10 miles. Don't you just love "big city traffic"? With severe driving conditions, it is also recommended that you change oil every 200 hours. For me, with an average use of 2 hours per day, that puts me at 100 days or just a little over 3 months. With running errands on my days off, and other miscellaneous trips around town, I usually run into 3,000 at or about 3 months or 200 hours of engine time.

My other truck, the 4X4, is a Mercury Mountaineer (Ford Explorer w/ leather seats). Not a daily driver, it typically sees drives to the lake, or trips that take over an hour down the highway. It sees less than 4,000 the whole year. I usually just use the Mobile 1 oil & filter combination, and buy the Mobile 1 that's good for 15,000. I change the oil every year - for Christmas This year, I got a coupon under the tree, for a $9.95 oil change at a local Ford Dealer. Yeah, I know people who will clip a coupon and give it to you as a gift, but we'll discuss that issue at another time. So for now, it's got a half dozen quarts of Motorcraft semi-synthetic & a Motorcraft filter.

Mobile 1 comes in different versions: 5,000, 7,500, or even 15,000 miles. Just look on the bottle & read the label.

Mobil 1
If you want total engine protection, excellent fuel economy and a product recommended for applications under warranty, you want Mobil 1®. The world's leading synthetic motor oil, it features a proprietary
SuperSyn anti-wear technology that provides performance beyond conventional motor oils. Technology that allows Mobil 1 to exceed the toughest standards of Japanese, European and U.S. car builders -- and to provide exceptional protection against engine wear, under normal or even the most extreme conditions.

Mobil Clean 5000
Want a conventional oil that protects for today's longer oil change intervals? No problem. With Mobil Clean 5000, you’ll get 16 percent more cleaning agents than our conventional oil, Mobil Clean (available in installed facilities only). Extra cleaning power that helps your engine run cleaner than with other conventional oils — even with today’s longer oil change intervals. In fact, Mobil Clean 5000 is guaranteed to provide excellent performance and protection for all car engines for up to 5,000 miles of normal consumer driving.

Mobil Clean High Mileage
Engines with more miles on them sometime need a little extra care. That’s why there’s Mobil Clean High Mileage. Designed for vehicles with more than 75,000 miles, this advanced formulation helps protect seals and prolong engine life. With 16 percent more cleaning additive than our conventional oil*, Mobil Clean High Mileage helps control the formation of sludge and harmful deposits to keep engines running cleaner longer.

Mobil Clean 7500
Mobil Clean 7500, a synthetic blend motor oil, provides outstanding protection for today’s longer service intervals — with 18 percent more cleaning agents than even Mobil Clean 5000 to protect critical engine parts for up to 7,500 miles under typical driving conditions.

Mobil 1 Extended Performance
You've never seen an oil like this before. Mobil 1® Extended Performance is a high-endurance motor oil designed for longer service intervals. It is a fully synthetic formulation that helps extend engine life, reduce oil breakdown and minimize engine wear -- all while helping to keep your engine clean. Improvements that add up to exceptional protection for 15,000 miles. Guaranteed.
