Thumbs up thanks f150online!

Just want to say what a great resource this site is!
For weeks my '97 f150 has been starting poorly, until one night it won't run unless I keep the throttle pressed. After researching on f150online for about 10 minutes, I found multiple threads indicating I needed to change my IAC, or idle air control valve.
Without this site I would've had countless things to troubleshoot. So thanks to everyone that posts knowledgeable answers.

Glad to see you found what you needed! I'm assuming that took care of the problem?

Yes, replacing the IAC fixed the problem I was having. No more having to press the throttle to get the truck to start. Btw, this was on a 1997 5.4L with 75,000 miles.

Thumbs up

Its a pretty common problem. 20 min DIY fix though, cant beat that. I gotta say thanks myself for all the help. Ive fixed and maintained numerous things on my truck to this day using information from here. Truck would probably be sitting at a mechanic shop running up thousands in bills if it wasnt for this place.
