04 F150 5.4L...5w30?
You should have used Amsoil 0w30 or 0w20. Amsoil also carries the XL 5w20, good Grp III synthetic oil good for 7500 / 6 Months. Use the one you have for 5k. After you run it for 5000 miles, switch to what Ford calls for. Or even better, get an Oil analysis after 2k and see how the oil is holding up in your engine.

( we should know!)I'm not too sure but isn't there a tolerance issue with the 3V motors. I know the only reason Ford changed over to 5W-20 in the 2V was for mileage reasons. I'm still running 5W-30 in my 2Vers.

Is there any concern for any major issues with 5w30 full synthetic?

You should have given that a little thought before the oil change.
Why did you use the wrong oil to begin with?

There is no 5w20 Oil in Germany. All Ford uses is 5w30 and I never had any issues. Since I have the normal Ford warranty I guess there must be other reasons why Ford wants you guys to only use 5w20. But if it was availible over here i´m shure I would use it.
My '05 4.6, Ford recommends 5W-20. I've ran Mobil 1 5W-30 in it since the first oil change with 0 problems. I read somewhere one time though that with the 5W-30 I lost .6 miles per gallon over the 5W-20, but who knows. I didn't notice anything.
