92 f150 5.0 running really rich of fuel does anyone have any ideas??

 

Check your fuel pressure regulator, on top of the engine drivers side rear, pull the vacuum line off, if there is fuel in the vac line, it is bad. let me know if this helps.

O.k., rules that out. Could you try to describe the problem a little more specifically, how does it react at idle, on acceleration, cruising? How exactly do know it is running rich?

 

At Idle Only! If You Have Your Foot In It, It Runs Great, No Vac Leaks, No Injector Leaks, New Coolant Sensor, Etc

 

It Loads Up At Idle Only And Black Smoke, Off Idle Runs Great!

 

How many miles are on the truck? Does it run smooth at a steady cruise speed? (35-40 mph). Is it hard to start at all? Is your truck M.A.F. equiped? Have you checked fuel Pressure? Last, but not least, have you checked the oxygen sensors? Sorry for the long list of questions, but without physically experiencing the symptoms, diagnosis can be difficult.

 

It is also possible that the e.G.R. valve my be stuck open, you should check that also.

 

The hose to the MAP sensor is faulty or the MAP it'self is bad.
