You can put a new motor in it for less then that!

Blown plug? Ive heard a blown plug and it would sound quite a bit louder than just a knock. It would sound like one of the header manifolds fell off. On my truck i aquired a weird very loud tapping/knocking sound when my infamous manifold gasket went bad, started out as a leak and turned into a loud slapping noise under low acceleration but when you got on it you could barely hear it. You never know, even the muffler shop couldnt visually find my leak or even hear it when it was warm but first start in the morning and it sounded like piston knock.

 

I didn't notice the 4X4. Still your link is only 7300. It's only fare if the motors messed up.

If you are not sure walk away. Changing the injectors is not that hard nor expensive. I would have changed them and added a few more thousand to the asking price. Worse case you will need to replace the engine. Do you have the funds for that? It looks like you don't. Take $50.00 from your 6K and have a mechanic look at it. The seller saying that it needs injectors is like me taking a 5 pound ball peen hammer to the side of your head and then telling people that you need glasses.

with 85k in good condition and the standard xlt package it blue books between 9800-10500. But its not in good running condition, thats just what you could look forward to if it was running properly. 4k's not a bad deal, if your up for the work and cand afford the pocket money

 

It's an xl with air cruise and tilt. tape deck and manual shift 4 wheel drive. even with this it is worth about $9500 here in saskatchewan. It needs to get inspected in order to be legal here and it would need for sure windshield and brakes in order to get it plateable. If it was just missing really bad I would have gotten a bunch of cash last night but that knocking was loud even when it was warm, nearly full operating temperature so I am just gonna leave it

 

good choice, if you dont have time or cash to mess with it, there are too many variables and unknowns. The low mileage is suspicious and being a 4x4 it may have spun a bearing by overrevving while driving in the ice. The early 5.4 trucks and expeditions did have "unexplained" spun bearing issues anyway.

 

7900 low book 9500 high That means if its in good shape other than the engine its a 9500 dollar truck once its fixed..
