You might just work your way to never getting back in the truck with these things.
Why are you being thrown out?
Why not look at it from the other side of the coin and grow up a little?

I am not trying too look for this forum as a grief counseling or any of that such thing. I am upset, I do not feel like discussing why I got kicked out of the house because that is not what this forum is about. The point is that I paid for the truck, and everything it has. I worked my butt off, hauling horses, working construction etc. to get the truck and get everything thats on it. I love my parents, I don't have too like them right now though lol. I was going into the Marine Corps in Febuary, I have already been too MEPS but need to go up to NY to finish the final paperwork (pick MOS etc.) The reason the title is in my dad's name is because I was in NY at New York Military Academy at the time of the purchase, I left them the check because I had already test-driven the truck the day before but had to leave to go back to school that morning (can't buy a truck on sunday lol). Anyway, these are some good ideas, my dad is pretty savy when it comes to cars (worked for FoMoCo when we lived in Europe) but the COP's he wouldn't be able to do and the edge he wouldn't know how to deal with because all the roads outside my house are 45 lol. Thanks guys for everything.

I know how parents can be when kids get older - I didn't experience this myself, my parents were awesome, but I witnessed it growing up with friends. My parents taught instead of being on an control kick .

It's for certain, If you paid for the truck and your dad is doing that, it's stealing - he's bad news. Realize that one for sure.

You have more than enough info to slow things down. To bad it's in his name - His intentions were not to help you- it was for control...I feel bad for you , but you might have to consider it a loose - I real parent wouldn't have done you this way - no matter what..

Hold on to that anger a little bit, your gunna need it. Helps christmas go better while you are getting thrashed. They let us watch a movie on Christmas day, a movie on Marine Corp bootcamp.:santa: Personally I like the Edge Idea, anything physically done to the truck might keep you from meeting your drill instructors. It is legally his truck, dont give him any way to screw up your plans. Good luck and SEMPER FI DEVIL DOG. MOS 3522 Advanced Motor T Mechanic

Anything you do to the truck to disable it will not stop a competent mechanic from finding. It will only add fire to the disagreement between you and your father. Find a lawyer and sue him for possession of the truck. Your canceled cheque should go a long way to proving ownership.

HAHA the rev limiter idea is a great one! I was re-doing my backyard before I got the boot, and have 10 or so truck w/ trailer loads of lawn trash too take to the dump I could just see my dad driving what is a 35 min. drive anyway at 1k rpm lol. Anyway I know I need to get a lawyer, I paid in full so its paid off, the trucks in his name...so legally I can't do anything about it right now. Maybe 14 weeks away from it will fix some things, and if it doesn't well then i'll have to get legal help. I can't use the truck during boot lol, so no worries. Jughead, i got some good anger going 0311 is going to need it I guess lol. thanks for the support guys, and y'all are right I don't want to do anything physically to the truck (like disconnecting wiring etc.) I needed a way that would shut it down without causing damadge.

I bet when you get back from the Island you will be able to work it out, if not get a lawyer. Boot camp is going to be the hardest thing you have ever done, and trust me you wont have much time to worry about it. When its over you look back at it and smile. Make sure you keep us posted when you get back. Good luck, just wait till you get to put on that eagle globe and anchor.

Thanks Jughead, I am looking foreward too it as much as is possible I guess. Its what I have wanted for the last 5 years, i've been working my @$$ off in order to get what I want, and not screw up...physically at least. I will keep y'all posted once I get out, and I probably won't need to get a lawyer involved unless the truck vanishes during boot, but I doubt that would happen. I plan on selling it eventually anyway to replace with a 7.3 PSD if I can find one for sale lol.

Definately. PI is nothing like the Bahamas (Island reference). You will leave that place with a new outlook and a new attitude. You will have zero time to think about ur baby and what pop is or isn't doing to it.

Like Jughed said, keep us posted.

Semper Fi brother!
MOS 2141. YAT YAS!

Oh, about disabling the truck... yank the PCM/MAF/CPS/IAT. Pop wants to drive it, I figure he'd have to shell out >$1k just to start it.
