351?
Well.. They are WRONG! LOL.. I'm not a Torino owner so I'm less informed about them I 'm still pretty sure they didnt come in them. They also list the 429 & 460 being options in 73 and I'm almost certain the 429 wasn't avalible by then. Maybe the 460 was but it had to very rare. Who knows. I have never seen a 351w in a Torino either but I don't look as hard at them.. Bottom line is the H code 351c-2v was the most common..

I've been corrected on this. M does mean Modified according to the Ford motor sports catalog. So I was Wrong.. M=modified.. (Still no 400M though..)

and I have seen plenty more. And there is no modified. ford motorsports is wrong. Modified from what? It makes no sense.
well the source is a ford publication so I have to believe it
"351M (modified) and 400" -Motorsports SVO Performance Equipment '98, page 101.
I haven t ever seen the elusive H code 71-73 Windsor in a Torino but I'm also told by the same guy that they did exist. So I dunno. H code was for sure the 351c-2v primarily...

I'm finding I know less and less so this is pure speculation but I would have to think Modified from a Cleveland is the answer. On Wikpeidia they say the 351m was marketed as a Cleveland for awhile. They are not all knowing though so who knows.

I know I have had 2 of the 351M's. And any time I needed a part I was asked it if was a modified, clevland or a windsor.
I could speak from speculation that a "C" was more of a 400 block with 351 heads. The 351 "M" was a 400 block with a 351 stroke and 400 heads. I know parts WILL NOT INTERCHANGE froma "C" and a "M" ( crank, cam, lifters, excetra, excetra). Been there and done that. Like I said, I learn more and more every day from FORD. Even from the old stuff. I do not CLAIM to know it all. We learn something new every day wrater we want to or not.
Well.. the Cleveland did come first so it would be logical to assume it was modified..
