The little engine that could...

Had my 11 yr old son and his friend in my 03 Exp the other day, taking the friend home. pulled out onto the main road and came to a stop. no one around... nailed the peddle and whaddya know? Chirpchirpchirp went the back wheels

I didn't think these things would do that on dry pavement. I've got the 4.6 but added an Xcal 93 perf tune, CAI and efans. There was a slight split second delay as the rpm's jumped up and the TC grabbed the tranny.

Not a big deal by the standards that most of you have on the 150's, but for a very heavy truck w/ the smaller engine, I thought it was kinda cool.

So did the boys..."hey, you did that on purpose?..." "...yep I did "

I was on my way the other day, stopped at a redlight. It was just a slight incline, turned green, the older lady that I just passed was coming up quick in the right lane, she didn't have to make a complete stop. The road went from 2 to 1 lane up ahead and I didn't want to have to drive behind her 30-45. So I jump on it, I could tell I was spinning and usually let out of it to save tires and avoid the 5-0. I happen to look in my rear view before I let out and couldn't see the car behind me due to smoke, so what could I do? I had to keep my foot in it. On the way to work this morning, I noticed my 35' black mark

4.6L rollin' on 24 lbs. Centerline 20"s 275/45/20 Goodyear Eagle GTII's 3.55 gears open diff

Can't wait til I have my 4.30's posi traction and Troyer custom tunes

Yea, I like to lay a mark or 2 here in Germany. Local nationals hate the loud a$$ rumble of my 4.6.

I have 4" tips on my slowmasters. LOL They sing though! My tires won't let me do a burnout, well, till it's wet out, anyhow. LOL

Good Motor, perfect subject fot the post!!!

ive got a '98 with a 4.6 and i can spin the tires no problem. all i have is an AF1. when i punch it from a stop, the tires dont just chirp, the scream. can do it too much anymore though cause in Texas its now a jailable offense. they dont just give you a ticket anymore

I have an '04 Heritage 4x4 with the 4.6 and it is all I could ask for. I usually haul either dirtbikes or my Bandit in the back and it gives me good gas mileage and performance.

I have custom side exit exhaust and a cold air intake. It doesn't like to spin but it hooks up hard and will easily go to the rev limiter (at 160 kms/hr or 100 mph).
I like it enough I guess...

I don't think I'm in any danger of losing too much rubber in my Expedition
Still, given the weight of the thing, it was kinda gratifying to see the effects of the work I've put into it w/the mods. It definately drives a world of difference from stock. It's not gonna take anyone at a redlight, but it can hold its own. No problem with getupandgo if I need to pass on the highway.

Just having a little bit o fun w/the kids in the back seat - and one in the driver's seat too

Whoopie - I can bark the tires pretty good with my stock as a stove 4.2 V6 without abusing the clutch - and it does have limited slip.

You are talking apples and oranges here brother. I love when you guys chime in.

This dude is talking about a full size expedition. He probably has the 3rd row seat and everything. Not to mention, if you cant burn out with a manual tranny, there is something wrong.

Give the man some props. Its his baby and he is proud. You go, waterman308!

Thanks...

You're right - full size Ex, 3rd row seat, rear heat and AC. Oh, and one more thing - my EZ Pass transmitter stuck to the windsheild Alota weight to move around...

I can chirp the tire every so often. But those Destinations do have some decent grip.

Maybe I need some e-fans
