4.6 same as mustang?

This question sort of dawned on me while flipping through the pages of a summit catalog; Is the 4.6 V8 in the F150 the same as the 4.6 V8 in the Mustang GT?

yea the 199x-2004 2v 4.6 is essentially the same block with a different intake, heads, cams, etc. basic engine bolt ons will work. i havent heard anything on the superchargers if they will work or not

You got it right except the heads are the same as well - There just CAM'ed different I believe.

I remember wanting mine to sound just like a Mustang GT.. Cutting my rear cats out and adding a sh^ty Slowmaster 50 series muffler. -

POOF!! Your now a GT .. LOL.

My truck sounded just like one back then..Didn't have a bit of torque tho..

The intake manifold is different. The truck makes more torque down low, while the mustang makes more higher rpm power.

i wish i could get a look at a procharger or similar set up and brackets to see if it could be bolted on. with a custom tune and a lower psi the truck should be able to be supercharged.

you may want to ask Pilot aka Mark over at got-pressure.com for all your pressurized questions. He specializes in custom turbo and procharger setups

well its according to the PDF the 01-04 gt 4.6 is the same as the 04+ f150 4.6. if the brackets could be modified the procharger should fit.
