Global Story

I replaced my COPs Saturday night. Cylinders 4 and 8 were kind of tough but I got them out and replaced. I managed to strip the head of the bolt that holds COP 7 in place. I did NOT remove the fuel rails, I didn't need to. It took me two hours start to finish. I couldn't be happier. There is a marked difference in throttle response and the truck pulls like new! I replaced the plugs with Motorcraft plugs 10k miles ago. I also have the granatelli performance boots. The OEM plug boot has a wound spring where as the granatellis are solid/braided connectors. Anyway the truck is hauling ***** again, beautiful idle etc... I am out of town for the next week but Ill drop a few more miles on her around Christmas and get back to you guys with a follow up.

Glad to here it worked out . Yea, I don't use the stock boots that came on the 99's on up.. There pretty cheap. I use the 98 boots and found and extra set on that I purchased on ebay - COP's and boots from a GT .. Sweet boots , thicker Isolaters and there make up is solid brass and copper..Hard to find ..

Got mine on the way this weekend also. Hopefully get them on soon. Anyone know of any problems if I should have to stop in the middle and only get one side on at a time? Hopefully I can get them all switched out at the same time, but you never know. Just wondering.

Did you get these http://www.granatellimotorsports.com...play.php?gid=8 which are listed as being for 04-07 and run about $150?

Yes, my boots were blues though.
It what's inside that counts. I am not sure what I paid for them. Mine came with a plug wire set........RPM outlet is run by idiots IMO. I have COPs and they sent me plug wires......geez. I still have them if anyone is interested.

That reminds of Global when they sold the F150 Motorcraft plug and Cop kits.

They would send you the wrong plugs every time

I had to run the plugs up to Murray's and swap them on two separate occasions..

Then I heard others had the same problem , they quit selling the kits soon after ..

BUT - they still have the best COP's on the market..

Changed out COP's and Plugs and everything runs great. I agree, it feels like the truck shed 1000 pounds. Only thing is I dummied up and busted an injector cap. Luckily I had one that I had changed out thinking it was causing the missfire. So now where is the best place to get a fuel injector? Advance wants $70 bucks.

Didn't you say you had an extra? Why do you need another ?

switched out cops, but still having problems

okay so i received my set of global cop's on monday, spent about 2 hrs getting everything switched out. i had already switched out the plugs before i bought all 8 cops, put everything back together with die electric grease. the truck starts better but and drives a little better but still has a shake like its missfiring, also it was shooting out code p0113, come to find out i forgot to plug the iat sensor on the throttle body when i was working... plug it back in disconnected the battery to reset the sel, came back and the light is still on and it still acts like it has a slight misfire. i dont know what else to do now

Water in the fuel will give you problems. Try 'one' bottle of HEET or simular water absorption additive and give it some time to work.

How long was the battery disconnected after you plugged the IAT back in?

Post the code when you get it scanned again - you'll receive help and most likely get it figured out ..

Yea , make sure they take the time to see if theres more than one code..

Post the number as you have the last time .. Check your COP plugs - specially #8 , I've forgotten to plug that one in a few times for some reason - Kind of strange you received a cell right after a reboot.. Bluegrass has told me before that one of the first things that gets checked is the EGR System - So check all the Hoses real good. The MAF as well..

If it's a bad Coil (It has happened before, just not as much from the resource you used) hopefully that's the code stored , making it easy . You have a warranty on all Global COP's for 1 year.. You may have to temporarily throw one of the Coils from your old set in to get by - If you call Global and ask for Kevin , he will sent you a replacement right away - 2-3 days..

They'll treat yuh right , but call him for the fastest service..
