03 cobra engine in 07 f150 with 4.6
Alright so with my 4.6 i cant seem to find a supercharger, so a buddy of mine is in the process of throwing an 03 cobra engine in his 06 v6 mustang... how much swapping would have to take place to make one work in my truck... with my autmatic tranny... because there is no way the 6 speed can handle the weight difference of my truck sompared to the mustang
you would need the intake mainifold. new injectors. better fuel pump and depending on how much PSI you make you may need to chage internal parts to. 8 PSI and lower is safe for stock injectors and internals. anything over 10 you will most likey need to chage. oh and your spark plugs will have to be...colder i want to say. built knows all of this im sure he'll let ya know!. and built is makeing prob 450HP on his stock tranny with his truck and it has a shift kit and a stall converter.
i dont know about putting it in the 07. get a complete engine, wiring harness and all, you may be able to get a custom tune, talk to a tuner first about that, as for your tranny, you should be ok for a while
would you suggest finding a new body lightning engine instead. eithwer way there is alot of stuff that would have to be pulled out and changed. this way im getting an engine and supercharger meant to be in a truck.
If you are going to go to all the trouble of getting a different engine why not get a 5.4 3 valve and buy the supercharger that fits it?

good luck fiding a 03 04 cobra engine for a decent price there is still a big aftermarket for them since they come full forged from the factory and actually make about 420-430FWHP.. i wanted to do a swap like that but to much money for what i make to do that so i just stuck with a SOHC motor.
it would be a very expensive swap, but if you have the dough, it would be a hell of a swap. the cobra block and internals are good upwards to 1000 hp. plenty to make the ole ford get down the road.
