ya. im gonna call the district manager tomorrow and tell him what happened. what really pisses me off is when the store manager asked the lube manager what happened. and that a$$hole lied to him right in front of me. i wanted to turn and just hit him in the face. he didnt look much older than me, and deff. wasnt bigger.

I wash mine with a hose all the time. 112K miles later and still no problems. It is all about common sense. There are a few things you do not want to soak but a quick spray wont hurt.

I work on friends and family trucks and cars all the time . I have to say if that happened , I would have been cleaning it up , right away!! I would have a towel wiping what I could down and then blow drying the ignition components clean with compressed air..

That's just asking for problems the way they treated you. I hope it works out for yuh..That's just to bad you were treated that way..Jerks!!

I spray all of my engine with a hose all the time and have never had a problem. Spraying it with Mean Green and hosing it off keeps it looking new. But if you have an open airbox (CAI), I would advise not to. The factory stuff is sealed really well. Heck I even drive my truck when it rains !! The water on my manifold evaporates pretty quick, I bet yours would too. As far as the water pump shaft getting rusty hey its a WATER pump, its going to rust. If its a show truck, I feel your pain man. If it gets you to work and hauls your tools, like mine, I think you'll live.

What an IDIOT !! This DUMB SOB is probably related to the F^cker who sprayed sh^t all over your truck and has NO idea what I'm talking about - F^ckUPAL!!!..

If you like pictures - look in both Haynes and Chilton's books , there's a pic of that problem fixed on an actual Ford Motor Re-man Block - A true Ford Re-man..They show it right in the book bonehead..

I would not hose the engine off directly. I have used paper towels and soapy water. Just enough to wet the paper towels. The key is to not get any electrical wet at all. And I have always used a light mist, just enough to get the soap off. Its not like your trying to take off grease, just some fluid. If you do have to hose on your engine, you just leave your hood open and ensure you dry everything with shop towels. Paper towels are very absorbent. Is radiator fluid acidic at all? Will it eat paint?

Forgot, also it isnt a bad idea once everything is dried up to let the engine run a little. THe engine will heat up and dry itself off, just dont put it away wet....

I used to spray my mustang motor with this Green cleaner and hose it off all the time. Just covered the alt and intake with grocery bags. Never put any real pressure to it, just a nice easy flow. Never had any problems .. it does suck that they made a mess and didn't clean it up though. Should have been their first reaction to do whatever you thought was correct to rectify.

Take it to the dealer or a professional detailer and send the bill to the shop. Going to a pro will insure the engine compartment is properly cleaned. We could harp all day about the pros and cons of washing the engine but that will not solve your problem. Sending them the bill will set up a paper trail and they may amend their policies on accidents and the next poor sob that has this happen to him will be treated better.
