I dont know what it is but my fathers 02 4.7L Dodge 1500 seems to have more umph than my 4.6L and they are basically the same size engine. The only thing he has different is a different iginition setup and a high flow K&N filter. I figured my truck should be about the same as his...course could be the fact his accelator different, don't know if thats cable controlled.... I wonder if I should replace the TPS? Anyone think that would make any difference?

then the dakota came out with the 4.7L in it few years ago when they had all the commercials for it. i was passing by the dodge lot and a guy and a sales rep were pulling out for a test drive. so i followed it around to see if it had as much power as the commercials made it appear to have. gettin on the highway he got on it i let him get about 4 lengths ahead i get on it and passed him in the passing lane doing 95 let off 2 cars ahead of him and then he passed me still on it. i got up even with him and gave em a thumbs up. he looked over at the sales men with a look of disapointment

I wish Ford would give the consumer a 4.10 option

My truck came with 265/17's stock. I just tried my kids 225/16's and noticed a big jump in performance - Well maybe not "BIG" but it was noticable.

I have notice the difference in torgue curves.
dodge torque converters make a solid grab at 800 rpm
ford feels a little softer somewhere between 1500 and 2000 rpm
makes for a big difference in feel.
my 4.6 scab whoooops
318 dodge scabs
