Question Acorns under the hood!

I own a 2003 F150 Supercrew FX4, and I thought I had been hearing a slight ticking around the area of the injectors on the left side of the engine. I didn't concern myself too much with it after talking to a Ford mechanic about it. Well, today a co-worker was looking under the hood while I was giving the truck some gas when he started laughing. There was a stash of roughly two dozen acorns all around over the valve cover and stuffed in little tight corners. The right side of the motor had about three dozen acorns all stuffed in hard to get places. I worked for about 20 minutes at trying to get them all out. I was unable to get to a few of the acorns, but I got the majority of them out. I park near an acorn tree at the fire station for 24 hours at a time. I had my plugs replaced 3 months ago so this all happened recently. I thought it was pretty interesting though.

Those critters that bring acorns in under the hood sometimes like to eat wiring too...

Oh rat's, I mean really rat's.

I was checking the air filter on this lady car one time and a rat had place a piece of dog food in each of the square holes in the bottom of the air box.

That rat had a 30 day supply of food

Freaking Varmints!!

Those are Chipmunks Noisy things as well, they park outside your window and bark at each other at times.
They also collect corn if you have a field close by - find little piles of in the barn here and there - that's where I have to park the truck most of the time. If I park outside the birds get it and with all the berry tree's around here it's not pretty .. Specially on the black leather bed cover....

But in the barn/shop the bats use to get it in their until I got rid of them with a 4000 GPM Power washer - that was fun. No kidding I will be working on my truck inside and see these two chipmunks running around - don't know how they get in and the one time I heard water leaking from the roof onto my truck kinduh blew my mind - it wasn't raining ??? Well that's when I found the bats sleeping up in between the rafters.. They would sh^t and pi$$ on my truck during the day time. They had to go..

I haven't had a problem with the chipmunks hiding acorns or nuts in my truck anywhere yet , but I find there little piles in droors , behind things , underneath things - everywhere else in the shop. One time the little critter trapped itself in a empty garbage can lol - I had to let it go , they really don't bother me that much , but I can see how they would store there nuts in the engine compartment if givin the chance - winters coming here..

I found a bird's nest in mine. I removed it and the next day it was back. it took a few removals for the bird to catch on. BTW my truck is a daily driver.

A branch broke off - went thru the roof , had to fix that as well

I had a problem with mice (not rats )tearing a hole in the Dogfood bags every winter - They'll probably come around again. I set 4 or 5 traps and bate them with peanut butter and that usually takes care of the problem - The dogfood is in plastic tubs now, but yea , they like that dog food for some reason .. That's funny Tumba

Worked on a Tbird that had a missfire code on #7 cylinder and when I looked under the hood a squirrel had started a nest over the injector and chewed the wire for the injector in half to make room. Called the guy to tell him what I had found and he said his wife had said she was seeing squirrels going in and out of the car. Them yard rats
