Engine swap/ ECU problem?

I just bought a '07 5.4 complete motor (intake, exhaust, wiring, etc) to put in my 1999 F-150 XLT 4x4 w/5.4 because it was developing engine noise. Right now, I cannot find out what ECU ran this engine. Is there anyway to find the correct ECU for this engine by using the engine vin #. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You need to go back to where you bought the engine and get the original ECU and wiring harness......expect transmission fitment problems also....

The 5.4 3V and it's wiring is so radically different than the '99 wiring...just sell the 3V and all on EBay or something and buy another '99ish 5.4 for your truck. It'll be a lot easier.
