bank 2 sensor 2 engine code

i have a 97 f150 with the 4.6 engine, and just the other day had my check engine light come on. checked the codes, i forget the code number, but it said something about bank 2 sensor 2. i know its an o2 sensor code, but where would the sensor that is throwing the code be? sorry the info is kind of vauge, but im going on what i can remember.

the check engine light came on early friday morning on my way to work (it was pretty cold out, and came on right as i got off the highway) we checked the codes, cleared them, and the check engine light has not come on since. is this just a fluke because it was cold out, or should i look to replace whats wrong?

Wait for it to come back on and then post the code number. FYI bank 2 is on the driver side and the #2 sensor is the rear one that monitors the efficiency of the catalytic converter.

On all engines: bank 1 contains cylinder #1; bank 2 is the other head. Sensor 1 is upstream, and is used for engine management; sensor 2 is downstream, and is only used to measure catalyst efficiency.

In all those, DOWN is the FRONT (away from the bellhousing).

check engine light came back on this morning on way to work. pulled the codes and this is what i got...

P1000 - obd systems readiness test not complete
P0161 - O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction (bank 2 sensor 2)

hope this better gives the info i was asking about before. any ideas on what the problem is? bad o2 sensor? something else?

Unplug the rear driver side 02 sensor and check both the male and female connectors for corrosion. Mine was so bad I had to splice in a new connector. Luckily I have some spare harnesses lying around and I used one from it.

Why doesn't your picture ever show the 5.4L motor?

Because they don't use the 5.4 in the Mustang.

It has the same firing order as the 4.6.
