questions involving seafoam and TB elbow

I used Seafoam once before a few years ago. I didn't have any problems and must have done it right because it smoked like crazy when I started the truck up. I ran Seafoam through again a few days ago. It didn't smoke when I started it up this time. It finally started smoking like crazy while I was getting on the gas driving it down the road. I did it the exact same way I did a few years ago. I am thinking it collected at the bottom of the lower intake manifold. Then it started getting sucked into the cylinders once I got on the gas. Why would work before but not this time?

Now for the TB elbow. I bought a spare one to work on porting during spare time. The one I got is from a 2003 4.6. I noticed it has a couple extra vacuum ports on the back by the big one. It looks as if they would enter the big one. They don't have an opening going into the elbow though. It's looks like one line would connect to one end and continue to another line through the other one. What are these for?
