Exclamation Throttle Response and gears?

first question. the only thing i hate about my truck is when im at a stop light or cruising, I'll hammer it and it wont do anything at all for just about a second later. it gets really annoying in stop and go traffic.. is there anything i can do?
... i got CAI, Gibson Exhaust, Edge programmer... the add-ons help, but its still there

second question. im not to educated on gearing, right now i got 3.73 gears and was thinking to change them. what gears are good and how much do they cost to buy... r they simple to install or would i have to take in in to get installed, if so how much for install

Thanks so much

If you punch it when you're cruising at say 45MPH it takes a little bit for the tranny to shift from 4th to 2nd. Is that the delay you're talking about? I know what you mean though about trying to hammer it when doing 45MPH, then it takes a bit to shift, then it just doesn't have much get up and go since 45 is about the shift point for a 1-2 shift. It can't shift into first, so it goes to second at a relatively low RPM compared to if you floored it at 30MPH (which it shifts into 1st, higher in the RPM range) or 60MPH (which it shifts into 2nd with pretty high RPM's too).

Specify what you're talking about, either the tranny shifting or the feeling that it takes a bit to get into the powerband (3,750RPM's to 5,000RPM's for 3V 5.4L V8's, just an example.)

drive-by-wire

you're probably referring to the drive by wire throttle that all new cars and trucks use these days...where the computer determines the correct amount of throttle response to use. all ur doing when u press on the accelerator is telling the computer that u want to move, then it takes over and determines how fast or hard the vehicle should move..VERY ANNOYING...the new 2007 tundra has similar problems where drivers report stepping on the accelerator or stepping off the accelerator and nothing happens for a second or two and then the truck either accelerates or decelerates..

I thought that having the Edge tune kit got rid of the fly by wire lag that is programmed into the original chip?
