Sorry I know ya have seen this 1000 times but i have a 2001 f150,5.4l,4x4. And my passenger side exhaust manifold leaks badly. From what i see the 2 front bolt heads are gone. I know this is a thing that happends but... Im gonna order some shorty headers that bolt in stock location. My question is this how hard is it to remove the broken studs ? Will some vice grips and ( MABEY a little heat) work. or do they need to be broken off at the head and drilled then taped ? I ask this cause im gonna take on this project myself and i cant have the truck down more that 2 days at most ( since mustang clutch has shattered on me lol). Also 1 last thing from what you guys had to deal with on this issue does the rest of the bolts just break off , od they seem to come out ?

in the drillbit section of almost any hardware store you will see a product called "easy out" its a drill bit that eats bolts and pulls them out at the same time. though be cautioned, misuse can bring about the need for a tap and die set. (you will have to re thread the holes possibly)
