Rough Idle?

Last weekend when returning from a elk hunt coming down the mountain I noticed that my truck stubbled when I accelerated to get up and down the rought road. When I reached the boytom I could definetly feel like the truck was "loping" while still in Frive just with the foot on the brake. Then on the highway the truck would seem to run fine as I kept the RPM's above 2000. Then the Service engine soon light came on. At first I thought I had gooten something water or smethig in the fule but have since fueled up and still same problem. I checked what vacum lines I can see and all apear to be OK.

Weird thing is that it seems to be worse when you first start the truck and after it warms up it is better. Any ideas.......??

2001 F150 Supercrew 5.4L.

Thanks , Marty

Time for a tune up?

how many miles since you last replaced your coils and plugs? The coils are sensitive to moisture, perhaps one got wet and is now ruined.

Same thing here... Only 40K

Hey, I'm having the same trouble with mine... My truck only has 40K on the odo. I cleaned the MAF with maf cleaner, and I put Lucas in my gas and topped of with 8 gallons of premium. No help, yet.

I'm bummed because I'm supposed to head up hunting in a week or two, and then this starts up.

I was also thinking about plugs and coils. Anyone who has had similar problems able to give help on this issue?

PLEASE!!
