Swap or no? need opinions

Swap or no? need opinions

Hey all, I'm thinkin' about swappin a 302 V8 from a 1982 f150 reg. cab 4x4, into a 1986 f150 supercab that has the I6... what do y'all think about it? I love the torque from the I6, but I wanna have better upper end as well...sound like a good idea? or no?
Also, the 302 and the I6 have the same bell housing, correct?
Any thought are cool

Also also...They are both carbed:-D

If your looking to build power in the I6 go to http://www.fordsix.com They can "get er" done. I'm real impressed with their work and have seen their 10 second Falcon run. That turbo 250 just screams when it goes by. They are building a head for the 240/300. I think you won't have any trouble getting 350HP and 450Ft/lbs of torque out of your I6.

When you think about it the Ford I6 is really a great platform. It's 7 mains really make a substantial bottom end. When you throw in forged pistons and arp studs you end up with a formidable package. Anyway I would rather stick with my six shooter and forget the eights. I've built plenty of eights and the six is just fun cause its completely different. It can hold its own too.

Almost forgot..... if you decide on the eight and want to get rid of the six.....I'll take it off your hands.

that would be very out of the ordinary...having a beefy big six in a pickup, since everyone else around here has a v8...but that site doesn't really have anything except a distributor and headers for the 300...and cliff is very expensive...

any other opinions on the swap? or should I keep the six?

I know that for the swap, i'll need mounts and perches(i think) as well as a flywheel... but I don't know which I'd need...what could I get the flywheel of of?
