Fuel Milage question

Is it normal to get really crappy milage on a truck with over 200,000 miles? My 01' F150 screw 4x4 is getting around 200 miles per tank. I just looked and thats around 8mpg!

Edit: And when I drive, I try not to go above 2000 rpm.

Honestly, I don't believe the sensors were ever replaced, unless thats not possible (are they changed by Ford if you ever service it?). The spark plugs were changed about 3 years ago when one shot out of the block.

Couple other small things to look at too.

My 2005 is averaging 17 mpg after installing Flex-a-lite fans for what thats worth. This is in rural driving-city driving or pulling my boat takes it down to 13.5 mpg or so. With winter coming it'll be tough to get mileage. At any rate check your tire pressure (and if you're driving on big, non stock tires forget mileage, anyhow) and the air filter. I replace my air filter at least one time per year whether I need it or not.

My truck is completely stock except for an exhaust and "cai" so I don't have to replace the filter anymore. I always try to maintain my tire pressure to 35psi.

I think this week will be operation "save bank" and I'm just going to start replacing 02 sensors, wires, plugs, clean injectors, ect...
